My first inkling that I might be wrong came from the subhead’s description of Bezos and Sánchez as “one of the most philanthropic couples in the world.” I’ll admit that before reading the Wall Street Journal piece, I had written off Bezos and Sánchez as just another disgustingly wealthy couple who dabbled in charitable giving to distract from inconvenient facts - in this case, that they bought their superyacht its own yacht, even as Amazon employees alleged that they were forced to pee in bottles to meet their delivery quotas.

Here’s what I learned about this hardworking, humble, and totally adorable pair. Sánchez sat down with Derek Blasberg - the journalist and celebrity mingler once described in New York as “the Truman Capote of Instagram” - for a mini-profile and Q&A. Magazine, which I read mainly for its celebrity coverage, I discovered that I’ve been sleeping on one of the most inspiring couples of our time. All I know about his partner, Lauren Sánchez, is that she was the recipient of said sexts, and they’re still together.īut while perusing today’s WSJ. I’m aware that in recent years, the billionaire thwarted a scandal over sexts with his girlfriend with a sassy blog post, got divorced, and flew into space in a dick-shaped rocket. I haven’t been following Jeff Bezos’s life all that closely, as the former Amazon CEO no longer has a say in how quickly I receive my Prime shipments. We are republishing it today in honor of the news that Bezos and Sánchez are engaged. Photo: Getty ImagesĮditor’s note: the piece originally ran in January 2023. Additionally, you may also see some confusion around r controlled vowels (at, or, er-ir-ur.) Here is a video to illustrate what I mean.Photo-Illustration: Intelligencer. For example, instead of saying, /b/,the video may show the sound pronounced as “buh” which can be confusing for students.

The consonant stop sounds (b,p, k, g, t,d) can often be problematic as well as affricate s (ch, j). You will want to pay attention to the mouth position and sound that is sung. After all, who can resist a catchy beat!? Not me!Ī word of caution. Singing educational songs with your class is one of the best things you can do to motivate your reluctant learners, too. Songs are also highly effective in helping with vocabulary retention in young learners. The data from learning from songs also shows that they help kids develop a love of learning at an early age. Research also tells us that they are amazingly effective tools for cultural education and language learning, too. Songs have the magical ability to reach every learner. When this connection happens, the information in these catchy tunes stays locked in the memory of your little learners, simply by dancing and singing together!Īnother appeal of songs as learning tools is that they appeal to the various learning styles of your kindergarten students. When you add in some dance and hand movements, a motor skills connection is formed. Singing helps kids learn vocabulary, listening skills, letter sounds, letter recognition, and so much more. Even though most people think of kindergarten songs as an entertaining brain break, they are so much more than that.
